Fairfax County General District Court - Small Claims Division

Welcome to the Fairfax County General District Court Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) system. This new virtual service is currently available at no charge for parties to resolve their small claims civil court case without having to physically appear in court.

Through Fairfax County General District Court Online Dispute resolution, parties can resolve their dispute with or without the help of a mediator. Mediation is a process in which a trained, neutral person (a mediator) helps parties identify a solution to a dispute that best works for them. Mediators do not take sides, evaluate claims, or provide legal advice. Discussions with a mediator are private and cannot be used in a subsequent trial.

ELIGIBILITY

To use this service, you must:

1. Have received a notice from the Fairfax County General District Court for you to participate in Online Dispute Resolution.
2. Have an active case number from the court.
3. Have access to an active email address and access to the internet.
4. Be at least 18 years of age.
