ODR is a process for the parties involved in the case to discuss the issues with the help of a neutral third party, outside of the courtroom. All discussions occur in an online environment at your convenience. Items for discussion may include:

• Discussion of financial matters, such as division of debts and assets, spousal maintenance, and child support (if applicable);
• Developing a parenting plan with details regarding when the child(ren) will spend time with each parent;
• Discussion of decision-making responsibilities regarding any minor child(ren) common to the parties.

You may still participate in ODR and you are not required to meet with the other party during the online process. The facilitator may terminate the session if they feel it is inappropriate due to safety concerns for either party or the children.

Your legal document outlining your areas of agreement will be prepared by the facilitator and sent to both parties and any attorneys for review, approval, and signature. After all signatures are completed, the facilitator will deliver the document to the assigned Judge for signature. You will receive an official copy of your signed Decree/Judgement/Agreement in the mail after the process is completed and if there is a hearing set in your case, it may be vacated.

The facilitator will notify the Court that no agreement was reached. You will need to attend any scheduled hearings and you may need to file something with the Court if you have no current Court action pending. You may have the option to participate in additional in-person services through Family Services of the Conciliation Court in Florence.
